Air freight security

Geis SDV always works within the regulations of the current German air security law which came into force on January 15th, 2005. The two most important principles of this are:

  • The entire freight and all courier and express deliveries to be transported by passenger aircraft or cargo aircraft only should be subjected to security checks before loading.
  • Once the security checks have been completed (inside or outside the airport premises), the security status must be maintained until loading and take-off.
The following security checks are carried out by our specially trained staff:

  • Manual and physical checks
  • X-ray examination
  • Checks for explosives in a pressure chamber
  • Checks involving other technical or biosensor-based equipment (e.g. explosives tracker dogs or trace detectors)

To fulfil the stipulated security measures, Geis SDV has been nominate for authorisation as a regulated carrier (DE.RAC.0185) from the relevant authority, the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (LBA), from 9th of January 2008 until 8th of January 2013.
